Do Life Together in a community group

Larger groups gathering in the communities where they live to do life together in all sorts of fun, meaningful, substantive ways. coming soon

What are Community Groups?

Community Groups are not the traditional Home/Small Groups, even though we have those too. Instead, these are groups of 20-40 who get together to occasionally hang, barbeque, and whatever else seems fun and like it will build real relationships.

Then, from these groups will come the ministry normally associated with a church building. For example, rather than have a Bible Study in the heart of Bellevue that people from all over the Seattle Area are supposed to go to during rush hour, each Community Group will figure out what is most needed for them, and do that in their local community. So, say, the Community Group in Bothell, which has a lot of moms with kids, may choose to do a MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) Group, while the group in Redmond, which has a lot of empty nesters, may do a Beth Moore Study.

Plus, the men may decide in one region may feel like doing a softball team, while another group may do a breakfast at the local breakfast spot.

What comes out of these groups?

3-Folds and everything else will come out of these groups. There are so many possibilities. The heart is to truly be connected to one another in our communities for all the benefits that brings.

But do note, there is also the benefit that when you get to know someone on, say, the sideline of a soccer field, and they ask where you go to church, we can say, “well, if you mean Sunday morning, that is in Bellevue, but actually we are getting together for a barbeque at a house 5 blocks from here, so bring your kids and let’s hang.”

Because of this, we will encourage people to be in groups that are close to them, but no one is assigned to anything, because we understand that for various reasons people may want to belong to another group. Wonderful! We just want you to know that you belong.
